Attributing this piece based on: quality of construction and materials, the finish, the leaf latch mechanism is the type and brand that Stickley used, and it is listed in the catalogue from about 1914 of The Work of L. & G Stickley as item 722. On the bottom of the table you can see where the label used to be. The middle of the bottom stretcher has an unique design to it.
Has the original dark finish. Exceptional tiger oak wood was used in the construction.Corbel details are on each leg jutting from the cross stretcher. It has had many years of honest use with light scratches and marks that have given it a softer patina.
Believe that at some point there was some restoration done to it. The screws that hold the top to the base have been replaced. The table most likely started at about 48 inch round. With the typical wood shrinkage it is actually a shy 48 inch on one direction and 47 5/8 inch on the other. Height is about 29 1/4 inch. There is a separate listing for just the table, which provides more photographs for your to view. May have been reglued / restored at some time.
Finish is good for original condition, but does have the normal wear that comes from 100+ years. Small scratches and marks that has blended into a softer patina. Typical and expected wood shrinkage.
