RARE! Globe Wernicke Quarter-Sawn Tiger Oak Double Wide Barrister Bookcase

Spectacular and TALL Globe Wernicke Mission/ Arts & Crafts double-wide barrister bookcase in the highly sought after quarter-sawn tiger oak grade #299 1/2! These double-wide barrister bookcases are scarce and usually they are found in a 3 stack or 4 stack configuration.

This is an extremely rare 5 stack with three 12 1/2" tall sections and two 10 1/2" tall sections. All of the sections are 9 1/2 deep inside the closed doors.

The height of this bookcase is a whopping 80 3/4! It is 50 3/4" wide from right to left and 11 7/8" deep including the door pulls on the front. Without including the door pulls the bookcase is 11 deep. I get the height and to me the width means from left to right but you also have depth from front to back.

I think they need to change this. I challenge you to check other sites and you will not find a 5 stack anywhere! Overall this bookcase is comprised of 7 pieces. We start with the four legged base followed by the 5 glass door sections and finally there is the top cap. 9 of the 10 doors have the wonderful wavy glass with one section being replaced.

Globe Wernicke usually used brass door pulls but the Mission bookcase's have four sided oak pulls. These 10 pulls are in excellent undamaged condition. Only one of the 10 shelves have the slide marks from the books moving back and forth inside. The other 9 shelves are in much better than average condition with light wear.

Each of the glass door levels has a Globe Wernicke paper label on the back panel. 4 of the five are mostly complete with another missing about half. All of the glass door sections have the metal equalizers which make for smooth door operation. I take my pictures outdoors so that any blemishes can be seen.
