PAIR OF DERBY ARTS & CRAFTS OAK BILLIARDS CHAIRS. Bay Colony Antiques takes the utmost pleasure in offering you this fantastic pair of circa 1910's American Arts & Crafts Mission Oak Billiards chairs by the Derby Furniture Co of New York City. The same Derby Company of Boston, Chicago and New York became the second largest chair maker in America circa 1900. These chairs come to us from a Long Island Gentleman who's father obtained them from the Queens Republican Club of Richmont Hills. Some of the few surviving pieces of this piece of New York City History.
The chairs have had very nice work performed replacing the original seat foundations and now in a very nice distressed look leather type material. They are in the original fumed oak finish and in excellent condition. The arms are fastened with dowels and carved through tenons, with nicely squared off legs and flared moldings each chair is 48" tall, 27" wide from arm to arm, 23" deep with 19" high seats. They have nice intact maker's labels from Derby and robust base stretchers. These are tough finds and extra choice items.
