EARLY 20TH CENTURY ARTS & CRAFTS / MISSION OAK BEVELED GLASS SIDEBOARD / SERVER. Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients. We're pleased to offer for sale this exceptional & unusual early 20th century Arts & Crafts / Mission Oak sideboard / server. A rare format this sideboard has a large compartmentalized upper drawer over double standard drawers, with a set of two swinging middle drawers over a large base drawer.

The cabinet shop used great layout of the heavy flake tiger grain achieving a nice visual effect on the front face. The drawers retain their original locks & brass escutcheons.

What we find rather unusual about this sideboard is the construction techniques used. On most similar examples the mirror is screwed on and off as a separate piece.

If you look closely at the side profile you can see the mirror is built into the entire back board and back legs of the cabinet. This would have been much harder to do opposed to a separate gallery that simply attaches with screws.

The gallery and front posts are decorated with a facet cut terminating in a beautiful end grain. The gallery has decorative shaped spandrels adding to the congruity and design.

This sideboard has a wonderful piece of old beveled mirrored glass we chose to leave unedited to show the truest representation. There is a remnant of an old round label on the backboard we had trouble reading. We believe this was made in New York or possibly out near Grand Rapids.

We have so much new inventory to process and can't track down the sizes at this moment. For immediate service please send us a message and we'll make sure to get the sizes right over to you.
