Arts & Crafts Mission Oak Six-Slat Rocking Chair signed L & JG Stickley
This chair went through the period of time when mahogany furniture was in style but very expensive and if you owned oak it was cheaper to cover your furniture with a mahogany stain. The stain has many chips to it and you can remove it to expose the quarter sawn oak if you want. The cushion appears to be original but the naugahyde cover is a replacement and it still has straw stuffing. It has the branded signature on the back board. The other defects are on the right side. The top board has age cracks at the dowel holes on each end and there's a dowel hole crack to the front leg. They are not loose and do not hinder the use of the chair.
