ARTS & CRAFTS STYLE SETLLE BENCH / MISSION OAK BENCH. Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic Arts & Crafts / Mission Oak style settle bench.

We've never seen another in this format which leads us to believe this isn't a reproduction of an old bench, it's a custom interpretation of a classic Arts & Crafts style. Whoever built it probably needed the low back to not obscure a window and when they couldn't find one that would fit the bill, they decided to make one.

With the cost of Oak where it is today, if we asked our restorer to fabricate something like this the lumber cost alone would probably be about a third of our asking price. The bench is solid as a rock and from a design standpoint was "overbuilt". Because of this the bench is a little on the heavier side, but we'd rather have something overbuilt and capable of taking a beating than be flimsy. The bench measures 59 5/8" wide x 23 1/2" deep x 31 3/4 tall at the arms. The height at the back is 24 1/2" and the seat measures 54" wide between the arms x 20 1/8" deep with a 12 1/2" seat height.
