Antique Stickley Bros/Quaint Furniture Art/Craft/Mission Oak chair vintage 1910

Original Stickley Bros Mission Oak chair. It has a full-size seat height however, the back is lower than a dining chair.

It was probably a sewing chair, but would make a great shoe tying chair for the bedroom! The seat has me puzzled.

It looks original & professionally installed with it's own shallow recess. I'm thinking it's a "sub" seat for extra support, and the top cover is missing. It's perfectly sturdy just as it is, although there is an outer groove for another covering above it. Also, I don't believe the replacement stretcher is oak, although it does blend in well (pic 9). The seat is 18.5" wide at the front, 14.5" wide at the rear; the depth is 16.5", the seat height is 17.5" and the overall height of the back of the chair is 31.
