Antique Arts & Crafts Sessions Mission Iona Oak Cased Clock 1908

This listing is for our very handsome and solid clock made by Sessions Company and dating from 1908. There is a close up picture of the original Sessions label attached to the face of the clock. The clock also bears the engraving "F" and "S" either side of the small timekeeping hole just below the numeral 12 (see picture) for Fast and Slow time adjustment, for which the small key is also present and included. The clock is an 8 day time and strike Mission clock with a solid oak case. It is very attractive with its curved bracket legs, glass inserts and the glass door, which are all in good order, without any cracks or chips and works smoothly, as it should.

The brass hinges and door latch are stunning, in the typical Mission style, very Arts and Crafts. It comes with its original keys as shown. The brass numbers and hands have been handmade and this gives the face an interesting dimension. This clock has a wonderful feature in that not only does it strike/chime on the hour and half hour but it has two different sounds - a solid Cathedral gong for the hour and a very delightful "ping" on the cup bell for the half hour.

It measures 45cm high x 31.7cm wide x 15.5cm depth. This clock is admired not just for its looks but also its delightful sound. It is a great working Arts and Crafts clock. Please look at the pictures carefully as they form part of the description.

It has been in our ownership for about 20 years and we have not carried out any work on the clock. The oak case overall has no scratches or damage and the glass has no scratches or chips. Thank you for your interest - any questions - please ask.
