Solid and heavy one piece Mission Style antique oak flat file cabinet. There is no maker's marks but the metal drawer slides have a November 1912 patent date on them. This cabinet is in fabulous shape for it's age.
The oak is a bit lighter than usual Mission oak but it has these chunky tapered legs you find on Mission furniture. The 11 drawers are extremely clean inside with NO odors and all wood construction with the exception of the metal drawer glides. The drawers can be removed if you wish to lighten for transport or when they are in the cabinet there is a stopping mechanism so that the drawers will stop just before they could accidently be pulled fully from the cabinet.
To disable the stop you just remove one screw from each drawer. You do not have to remember which drawer goes where since they are all fully interchangeable. In the middle of the cabinet is a slide out work or writing board that looks like it was never used. The interior is incredibly versatile giving you the ability to have wide open storage in each drawer or the ability to divide each drawer into 20 compartments with wooden dividers. About 75 % of the dividers are still present but you could copy them if you need more. The outside dimensions of this cabinet are, 56 1/8" tall, 32 1/16" wide and 22 deep. The inside drawer dimensions are, 23 1/2" wide, 17 1/4" from front to back and 2 7/8 high. This cabinet is available for local pick-up or I can deliver within The Mid-Atlantic Region.
